All vehicles and drivers must pass a safety inspection before being permitted on track. These requirements are in place to provide a safe environment for all participants. USAIR Motorsports Raceway reserves the right to refuse track access to any driver or vehicle deemed unsafe.

Driver Requirements

Required Attire

• Closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED.

• Long pants are REQUIRED.

• Shirts must be worn at all times.

• Loose clothing that could interfere with vehicle operation is prohibited.

Helmet

• A DOT-approved or higher-rated helmet is required at all times while on track.

• Helmet chin strap must be properly fastened before entering the racing surface.

Driver Safety

• Drivers must wear all seat belts or harnesses properly whenever the vehicle is in motion.

• Drivers may not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Drivers must attend any required driver's meeting before participating.

• Drivers are responsible for understanding and following all track flags, hand signals, and instructions from USAIR staff.

Vehicle Inspection Requirements

Safety Equipment

• Battery must be securely mounted.

• Positive battery terminal must be covered.

• Driver's seat must be securely mounted.

• Seat belts or racing harnesses must be securely mounted and in proper working condition.

• A securely mounted fire extinguisher must be installed within reach of the driver.

• Convertibles must have approved rollover protection.

• Front and rear tow points must be present and accessible.

Cooling System

• Cooling systems must contain water only or distilled water with an approved water-wetter additive.

• Glycol/antifreeze is NOT permitted.

• Coolant overflow tank is required.

Fluids

• No oil, coolant, fuel, brake fluid, power steering fluid, or transmission fluid leaks.

• Reservoir socks are required on all fluid reservoirs. (Available in the Registration Building.)

• Vehicles leaking fluids will not be permitted on track until repaired.

Wheels, Tires & Suspension

• All lug nuts or wheel bolts must be installed and properly tightened.

• Tires must be in safe operating condition with no exposed cords or severe damage.

• Tire pressures should be appropriate for track use.

• No loose, damaged, or excessively worn steering or suspension components.

Exterior

• Windshield must not have cracks or damage that obstruct the driver's vision.

• Hood, trunk, doors, bumpers, and body panels must be securely latched or fastened.

• Brake lights must function properly.

• Headlights are required during night events.

Final Inspection

USAIR staff may inspect any vehicle at any time during an event.

Any driver or vehicle may be removed from the track for:

• Unsafe vehicle conditions

• Fluid leaks

• Missing or damaged safety equipment

• Failure to follow staff instructions

• Reckless or unsafe driving

• Failure to comply with these inspection requirements

Track access may be restored once all safety concerns have been corrected and approved by USAIR staff.

A vehicle passing inspection does not guarantee it is safe for competition. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure their vehicle remains in safe operating condition throughout the event. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
