HISTORY

USAIR Motorsports Raceway is a unique motorsports facility located just outside of Shawano, Wisconsin. Built in 2005, the 1.1-mile road course and oval were designed by World Karting Association track designer Kenny Venberg on 40 acres of land that had previously been home to a beloved amusement park for more than 30 years.

From the beginning, the goal was to create a world-class racing facility. The track itself was carefully engineered with a layout that combines fast sweeping corners, technical hairpins, long straightaways, and dramatic elevation changes rarely found at karting facilities. Even the asphalt was specially formulated using a rubberized blend known as "Rosphalt" to provide exceptional grip and performance. The result is a one-of-a-kind racing experience that earned the nickname "The Rollercoaster of Love."

Originally built as a premier kart racing destination, USAIR quickly gained national recognition within the karting community. Over the years, the facility has hosted numerous state, national, and international events, including the Rotax Grand National Race. The track has also welcomed record-breaking fields from premier racing organizations such as the United States Pro Kart Series (USPKS) and the Route 66 Sprint Series, cementing its reputation as one of the Midwest's top karting destinations.

As motorsports evolved, so did USAIR. The facility expanded its offerings to include motorcycles, autocross, drifting, rental karting, and a variety of grassroots motorsports events. The road course's technical layout and elevation changes made it a natural fit for drifting, attracting drivers and fans from across the country through events hosted by organizations such as Club FR and many others.

In August 2016, the Holzmann family became the owners of USAIR Motorsports Raceway. Their vision was simple: preserve a special place for motorsports enthusiasts while continuing to invest in its future. Since taking ownership, the family has made ongoing improvements to the facility, infrastructure, and event offerings while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that has made USAIR a favorite destination for racers, spectators, and families alike.

Today, USAIR continues to serve as a hub for grassroots motorsports in the Midwest. From first-time drivers and weekend enthusiasts to experienced competitors, the raceway remains committed to providing an unforgettable experience both on and off the track. As the facility celebrates more than two decades of operation and over 10 years under Holzmann family ownership, USAIR looks forward to continuing its legacy for generations to come.
